This is a concept we’ve been using and developing over the past 5 years or so. It’s the idea that another company will use your gift vouchers as gifts for their own clients as a thank you for purchasing from them or perhaps as a birthday present. This will give your business great exposure to an endless client base that you wouldn’t otherwise be exposed to. You have to be very conscious of the companies you get involved with, the way the vouchers are packaged and the size of the purchase their clients actually made. But once you’ve worked out these finer details, you’ll find this method of marketing can easily account for the majority of your bums on seats.
Here are some things to consider when you’re embarking on a Third Party Promo venture:
What’s in it for them?
They get to thank their clients in a meaningful way
What’s in it for you?
Bums on seats!
What companies should you target?
Car companies, real estate agents? Obviously it wouldn’t work to giveaway a $425 voucher for a $70 haircut as the gift is far too great for the purchase and won’t be valued or taken seriously
How to package it
The key is to make it look as special and individual as possible, directly from the company themselves, not a mass marketed letter
What not to do
Make it look prepackaged or give out 100 in showbags at the same time
